Get Inspired to Redecorate Your Room!

As we look forward to longer days and warmer nights, we wanted to get everyone inspired to redecorate your room, with the help of some of our current students.

The Rooms International team has curated a few affordable, easy and creative ideas for all our tenants, so you can add a little jazz to your apartment without causing any damage! Keep reading until the end of this post, we will be announcing a fun competition that you won’t want to miss out on!

Brighten Up Your Room

Even though summers are close and the days are getting longer, there is nothing better than some extra  lights that create a warm, cosy environment while you sip your calming cup of tea or coffee. A side lamp, fairy lights or even glow in the dark removable stickers can be just the things to do the trick. Using bright or neutral shade bed sheets can also make your room look more spacious and homely.

Rug it up

We know rugs can be quite expensive in general but you don’t have to buy an area rug to make your room look more vibrant. You can order small symmetrical carpet mats, faux fur mats or mini Persian runners that cost between $15 to $30 online. Place them close to your bed so the first step you put down in the morning feels soft and cosy.

A Little Bit Of Greenery Goes A Long Way

A hint of green goes a long way in making your room look nice and summery. And we won’t judge if it is not real! If you are really enthusiastic about living plants, they can also be a great way to bring the spring outdoors in. Start simple with some succulents or small pots to make the corner of your room more chique.

Photo frames, paintings and motivational boards

Polaroid photos and photo frames on your desk keep the positive, happy vibes around even when you are glued to your online zoom classes. Simple wall paintings (store bought or DIY for those of you more artistic) will also help in providing the unique magic for your room! They are light, and easy to stick or remove from walls later. Just be careful to avoid damaging the paint on the walls.

 Storage options

As students, we have plenty of stuff packed in our rooms. Easy, affordable, stacking storage options can be made from almost anything, even old milk crates that are lying around! We also recommend using small pots / metal containers for organising stationary, jewellery, accessories etc. They are easy to take with you when you are moving out and last longer than you’d think.
